Tennessee Thunder is live in Hermitage TONIGHT!!! We won’t be back until the end of August, so get here tonight!

Tennessee Thunder was founded in 1985 by Ginger Harris in Tennessee’s Tri-Cities area, in the northeastern corner of the state. At the time, Ginger was the lead vocalist, and her popularity in East Tennessee grew more and more with every show Tennessee Thunder played. In the early 1990′s, when Country Music’s popularity sky-rocketed, Tennessee Thunder made the move to Music City, USA! A lot has changed, both in the band and in Country Music, since those days, but, 25 years later, Tennessee Thunder is still going strong and is widely regarded as one of the top unsigned bands in the Nashville area!
The line-up has changed over 25 years, but the heart and soul of the band remains the same. Ginger Harris, now Ginger Harris-Hensley, following her marriage to long-time drummer, Speedy Hensley, has moved from fronting the band to managing the band and lead singer, A.W. Rose. Oh, don’t worry, she still flaunts those pipes, both on lead vocals and on those sweet high harmonies.
Backing up A.W Rose, are some of the best musicians in Country Music today! Speedy “The Thunder” Hensley still slaps those skins and keeps the band tight and in-line, on and off the stage, with his inventive style on drums and as band leader. John Jarrell provides the low harmony vocals and the driving bass lines that really power Tennessee Thunder’s musical style. Dave Sweat brings his inventive and inspirational fret-work on lead guitar to carry-on A.W.’s lead through the vocal breaks. Donnie Allen brings flexibility and experience as Tennessee Thunder’s utility player. He was Shenandoah’s utility man for 15 years, and, if it has strings, Donnie can play it! Finally, there’s A.W. Rose. A.W. is the ultimate front man, whose vocal style and ability is unmatched in any genre of music. The intensity felt through his passionate vocals draws in the audience and takes them on a musical journey from the first set through the last. With this line-up, Tennessee Thunder is set to be a force in Nashville and beyond for the next 25 years!
